PELAGIC TRIPS from BALTIMORE on ROOSTER

The waters off nearby Cape Clear island are well known for species like the larger shearwaters, petrels and skuas. Chumming enables birds to be viewed at close range.

As well as all the more usual sea birds, common sightings on Rooster include:

Sooty shearwater
Great shearwater
Cory's shearwater
Great skua
Arctic skua
European storm petrel

Less regular but possible sightings include:

Pomarine skua
Long-tailed skua
Wilson's petrel
Leach's petrel
Sabine's gull
Fea's petrel

There is also the chance of seeing whales, dolphins, sharks, turtles and other marine animals.
