The best sea angling in Ireland

Much of the best sea angling in Ireland is found where the rugged southwest coast meets the warm plankton-rich waters of the Gulf Stream. Not surprisingly, this part of Ireland has produced more Irish sea angling records than any other. Baltimore in West Cork is in the centre of this coastline and just about as far south in Ireland as you can get. It is well known as a centre for wreck, shark and common skate fishing, while most of the other major sea angling species of the northwest Atlantic are found here too. And they are often joined by less familiar fish from even farther south, courtesy of the Gulf Stream. In total the reefs, wrecks and banks have yielded more than fifty different species of fish. Based at Baltimore, Rooster is a fast Offshore 105 charter boat purpose-built for the area and operated by the its most experienced angling skipper who has been fishing these waters for more than thirty years.
